Police: Shrewsbury Business Owner Says Gun Was Stolen from Vehicle

Shrewsbury Police Department reports on criminal activity.

On January 5, police stopped a speeding motorist on westbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury and arrested a man from South St. Louis City for possessing a stolen license plate. The man was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.

Police arrested a man from Cahokia, Illinois for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop in the 7300 block of Watson Road on January 5 at 9:50 p.m. The suspect’s breath sample was measured at .147 percent and he was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.

A woman from South St. Louis County was arrested for shoplifting at Deals, 7037 Watson Rd. on January 9. She was issued a citation to appear in municipal court, and had outstanding warrants from another police agency.

On January 9, police arrested an Affton man and a Crystal City man for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 7200 Weil Avenue. The man from Crystal City was also issued a citation for driving while his license was suspended.

Police responded to the 7600 block of Ravensridge Drive on January 10 to investigate a domestic disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The girlfriend accused the boyfriend of pushing her out of his apartment and then she fell to the ground. Neither party was very cooperative with police. The report was forwarded to the local prosecuting attorney for review.

Police are looking for a white pick-up truck with a silver tool box in the bed of the truck, with front bumper damage that left the scene of an accident at Big Bend Boulevard and Exeter Avenue on January 10 around 8:40 p.m. The truck hit a Saturn and the driver did not stop to exchange information.

A business owner in the 4400 block of St. Vincent Avenue reported a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver as missing on January 10. The owner of the pistol last saw it in his vehicle on Jan.uary 4.  There was no forced entry made into the vehicle. The owner of the pistol was in Webster Groves, Clayton and Shrewsbury over the past week.

A South St. Louis City man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and for leaving the scene of an accident on January 10. The incident took place in the 7800 block of Weil Avenue. The man was issued citations to appear in municipal court after he refused to provide a breath sample.
