St. Anthony's Receives $25,000 Breast Cancer Foundation Grant
Funds will be used to provide free screening mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women.
St. Anthony’s Medical Center received a $25,000 grant from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. (NBCF) to provide free screening mammograms for area uninsured and underinsured women, according to a news release from the medical center.
NBCF is a non-profit, charitable foundation that has funded mammography and early detection programs since 1991.
“We are thrilled with the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s generosity in providing us with this grant,” St. Anthony’s Breast Center manager Judi Elston said in the release. “There is a tremendous need in the community for this service and this grant will allow St. Anthony’s to continue to provide screening mammograms to women who could not otherwise avail themselves of the potentially lifesaving benefits of early detection of breast cancer.”
