Work Begins at Old Sappington Farmers Market: What's Next?

The Sappington Farmers Market, in Marlborough, closed for good last summer. Now it looks like a new tenant could be preparing to move in.

The space has been gutted and workers are covering the windows of the previous market from floor to ceiling, but no one is saying what's going on.

A person who looked like a manager would only tell the Patch reporter that he didn't belong in there. A representative of Sachs Liermann Realty Group said, "Nope, can't do that," when asked if he could say what the plans are.

One tenant in the General Grant Shopping Center heard that a Dollar Tree store is moving in, and that they plan to rejuvenate the the exterior of the entire complex. Another hoped for a Trader Joe's.
