14 Rockwood Teachers Earn National Board Certification
Five of these 14 Rockwood School District educators work in Ballwin or Ellisville schools. Nearly 100 district employees now are certified.

Fourteen additional Rockwood School District teachers earned the professionβs top honor in teaching excellenceβNational Board Certificationβaccording to a district announcement. Those educators are:

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) improves teaching and student learning, as stated in the Rockwood announcement. National Board Certified Teachers are highly accomplished educators. Like board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review, state Rockwood spokespeople.
The NBPTS offers 25 certificates that cover a variety of subject areas and student developmental levels. A National Board Teaching Certificate is valid for 10 years with the opportunity to renew certification.Β
