Ellisville 'Transparency' Task Force May Find Examples In Ballwin
The cities provided different methods for making city legislative documents available to the public.

A task force made up of city residents and at least one elected official has been charged with looking at ways to make Ellisville city government more transparent in dealings with the public.
Schmidt earlier this summer pointed to concerns over the fact that the city of Ellisville was not retaining email records.Β
The panel, made up of seven residents ideally spread out among the city's wards, will be tasked with providing non-binding cost effective recommendations for ways to improve that record retentionΒ process, as well as ways to provide more information about city meetings on the Ellisville website.
Currently, city council agendas are posted verbatim online. Councilwoman Cindy Pool pointed to Ballwin as an example of a community that goes a step further. Ballwin Board of Aldermen agendas also include brief descriptions of the issues, as well as supporting background information available to members of the panel.
