A house fire was reported at 627 Claymont Drive in Ballwin Friday at about 3 p.m. Metro West Fire Department responded to the scene, discovering fire in a one-story structure. A release from Metro West said the family was safely evacuated after smoke alarms alerted them.  "By having working smoke alarms and the homeowner immediately calling 9-1-1 to report the fire, it helped our crews bring the fire under control relatively quickly," said Metro West Deputy Chief Mike Krause.
