Marcella's Mia Sorella Opens in Ballwin

The restaurant boasts handmade Italian fare and is the work of the St. Louis owners of Trattoria Marcella.

Marcella's Mia Sorella opened its doors to the public Sept. 15 in the Ballwin Grove shopping plaza at Clayton and Henry Roads.

Mia Sorella, owned by brothers Jamie and Steve Komorek, is a sister restaurant to Trattoria Marcella on Watson Road.

The Italian restaurant takes quality ingredients to create handmade food, said Jamie Komorek.

"It's a warm, comfortable space and we have delicious, homemade food," Komorek said.

What's on the menu? More than 25 wines emphasizing Californian and Italian influences make up the extensive wine list. Italian favorites such as Neapolitan-style pizza, pasta and entrees -- even a burger -- take up choices on the dinner menu.

Jamie and Steve both agreed the toasted ravioli would be a hit, and the Roman gnocchi antipasti also came with a high recommendation.

Jamie said lunch hours and selections are coming soon, but Mia Sorella is open Monday-Thursday 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. and is located at 14426 Clayton Road.
