A Ballwin man faces more criminal charges after police said he had a friend read a letter to his wife Aug. 1, urging her to drop assault charges against him. The man previously was charged with holding a gun to his wife's head July 2 and threatening to kill her. Edward Young, 55, of the 500 block of Golfwood Drive in , was charged Aug. 4 with tampering with a witness and violating a protection order for his wife. also said in a report that Young sent a text message to his wife, violating the protection order. Young also was charged July 3 with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action. Bond on the tampering and violating a protection order was set at $100,000, cash only.
