The Book Rack Getting Used To Life In New Location
The Ballwin-area used bookstore is getting ready for a ribbon cutting later this week.
The Book Rack didn't need to move far. It just needed room to grow. "We just needed more space," Lauren Gockley, a sales associate at the bookstore said.
On April 23, the new storefront, just a few doors away from the old in Winchester Plaza opened its doors, in a former Weight Watchers space. "Everything's the same, but much nicer," one visitor said Tuesday. The new location has twice as many books in stock than the former home.
Gockley credits the store's loyal customers who still like the feel and the smell of pages in a book, despite the modern advances. She pointed to a Wall Street Journal comic strip stationed at the register, which said "books don't crash, they don't get viruses and they don't need screen savers."
