The Walmart Decison, Ballwin Budget, Special Session & More
A look at what's going to be making news around Ballwin and Ellisville this week.

Welcome back to another week on Patch....your friendly neighborhood editor is back at the keyboard after some time off.Β
We're going to be busy this week on several fronts. We'll be looking at what happens now in Ellisville following Walmart'sΒ decision to pull out of the controversial development project for Manchester Road. Add your voice to the discussion playing out on Patch. Is that a corridor for residential development now, instead of commercial?
Monday at 7 p.m. at Bluebird Park, Ellisville's Transparency in Government Committee will be getting together. They're looking for a big turnout to help make suggestions to better communicate information with residents.
Monday night, the city of Ballwin holds a 5:30 p.m.Β budget workshop prior to the
Board of Aldermen meeting, where lawmakers will discuss upwards of $2 million in renovations being considered for the Ballwin Government Center.
Tuesday night, President Barack Obama will address the nation regarding the situation in Syria.Β
Wednesday, the Missouri General Assembly holds its veto session in Jefferson City. Plenty of attention isΒ focused on two bills, one whichΒ would nullify federal gun laws in the state, much to the chagrin of some in law enforcement. The other is a piece of legislation which Republicans say is a tax cut, with Governor Nixon and others saying it would hurt education funding.
Thursday afternoon, you can check out the latest and freshest produce at the Ellisville Community Farmers Market at Bluebird Park. We'll also have some suggestions for how you might spend your weekend.
Friday, get out and enjoy Friday night football at your favorite high school.
Now, you tell us....what's the big story in your world this week?
