The Walmart Permit, Ballwin Bugs & Dirt Cheap
We're outlining some of what's going on in Ballwin and Ellisville this week.

Welcome to the last full week of September. Here's a look at some of what we'll be following around town this week or thought you should know:
Monday
The Ballwin Board of Aldermen meets at 7 p.m. One item on the agenda is what to do about mosquito control. City officials have to decide if Ballwin will get back in the business of doing its own spraying after learning that its contract with the county does not include weekly service city-wide. On the meeting's consent agenda is the switch of the Gas station located at 15221 Manchester Road from U-Gas to Dirt Cheap, a sister company, once the new U-Gas station opens in Ballwin at Seven Trails Drive.
Tuesday
The Ellisville City Council is still scheduled to hold a hearing potentially followed by a vote to formally revoke the conditional use permit for Walmart's proposed store west of Kiefer Creek Road on Manchester. The retailer announced it was backing out of the project earlier this month, but at least one research firm is conducting polling in Ellisville to gauge public interest.
Thursday
The Rockwood School Board of Education will hold a hearing on the district's tax rate, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Crestview Middle School.
Head over to a Taste of Parkway West High School, starting at 5:30 p.m., for a sampling of local fare from area restaurants. Tickets are $12 at the door and proceeds benefit graduation parties for the classes of 2014 and 2015.
Friday
Parkway West'sΒ Homecoming week hits high gear with a 1:30 p.m.Β fall pep rally and a 7 p.m. football game against Rockwood Summit.Β
