Chesterfield Losers Spent $6M On the Lottery

Number-crunching by our local daily newspaper shows that Chesterfield zipcodes sold nearly $6 million in lottery tickets last year—and most of that was in the 63017 zipcode.

Chesterfield Valley is 63005.

The whole state of Missouri sold $1 billion in lottery tickets in 2011.

If we divide the dollar amount sold in our zip code by the number of people age 18 and older (have to be 18 to play) Chesterfield 63017 spent triple the amount spent in the Valley.

Chesterfield Valley spent $47 per person on the lottery, Chesterfield zipcode 63017 spent $156 per person!

But unless you live in Red Bud, IL and your last name is Butler—it doesn't really matter now, does it?
