Chesterfield Man Crashes Into Another Car During Botched Merge Attempt

Paul Guyot, 48, of Chesterfield, was uninjured in a crash on Sunday afternoon.

A Chesterfield man was unharmed after colliding with another driver Sunday afternoon in St. Charles County.Β 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Paul Guyot, 48, of Chesterfield, Β and another driverΒ Stephen M. Murphy, 49, of St. Charles, were attemping to merge onto northbound Route K from the North Outer RoadΒ just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.Β 

The crash report states Murphy slowed to make the merge onto Route K. The Highway Patrol saidΒ Guyot was inattentive and failed to slow. The front ofΒ Guyot'sΒ 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Β struck the rear of Murphy's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier.Β 

Neither driver wasΒ injuredΒ in the crash, however a passenger in Murphy's car was taken to Progress West Hospital.Β Jean Murphy, 82, of St. Charles, is listed as having minor injuries following the crash.Β 

Guyot's car sustained moderate damage. Murphy's car had extensive damage.Β 

AllΒ occupantsΒ and drivers were wearing safety devices in the crash.Β
