Two Ex-Parkway Students Shot to Death

Chesterfield grandmother blames texts in mother-daughter deaths.

Chesterfield native Amy Freeman Burton, 37,Β and her daughter Ainsley Freeman, 13, were found shot to death in their San Francisco Bay Area home Monday evening. They had reportedly moved from the St. Louis area in December.

AΒ Β spokesperson said both mother and daughter attended Parkway schools. MotherΒ Amy Freeman Burton graduated fromΒ in 1993.

Β Police said he gave a full statement and is cooperating in the investigation.

Christopher Burton is Ainsley's stepfather.

Freeman Burton's husband said in a report that his wife was "paranoid" about her daughter's texting relationship with the 16-year-old boy.

Freeman Burton's mother,Β Linda Walp, lives in Chesterfield and said her daughter received death threats after police were notified about 13-year-old Ainsley communicating with that Kentucky teenager.Β 

Walp tellsΒ PatchΒ Walp said she spoke with her daughter on Monday, before the bodies were apparently found.Β 

Walp told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch her daughter and granddaughter moved from O'Fallon, MO, to California in December because Burton's husband had been relocated there for work.Β 

According to the report, Ainsley attended Fort Zumwalt South Middle School in O'Fallon before they moved out to California.

So far two Facebook pages have been created in Ainsely's memory:Β RipAinsleyFreemanΒ andAinsleyFreemanneverforgotten.

Police said they found two guns in the house, one near the bodies. Police said autopsies would prove whether the deaths were murder, or murder-suicide.

Burton, the husband, said they bought the guns in Arizona, where the couple met several years earlier.
