FREE Recycling By Chesterfield in Dierbergs Parking Lot

This week, Aug. 13-21, the bins are open.

Chesterfield's city government provides its second of three recycling collections of the year, with drop-off bins in Dierbergs Market Place parking lot through Sunday.Β 

The location is Baxter at Clarkson roads, 1730 Clarkson Road.

There is no charge, but follow the guidelines about what works and what doesn't work for recycle.

Single stream recycling guidelines

  • No hazardous chemical containers such as motor oil, insecticide, herbicide
  • No plastic film (no plastic sheets, tarps, or wrap)
  • No expanded foam or clear polystyrene
  • No plastic grocery bags

Accepting:

  • plastics No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 7 (The number is on bottom in chasing arrows)
  • aluminum cans
  • trays and foilΒ 
  • milk and juice cartonsΒ 
  • steel cans and tinsΒ 
  • newspaper
  • cardboardΒ 
  • brown paper bags
  • magazines, catalogs, telephone booksΒ 
  • office and computer paperΒ 
  • notebooksΒ (no metal clips, spirals, ring binders)Β 
  • gift wrapΒ 
  • chipboard (cereal, gift boxes, etc.)
  • carrier stock (soda carrying cases)
  • junk mail and envelopes
  • paperback books (no hard cover books)
  • glass bottles and jars (clear, brown, and green)

Rinse and empty all containers before recycling.

  • rugs
  • metal cleated shoes
  • skatesΒ 
  • spiked high heel shoes
  • material scrapsΒ 
  • severely damaged shoes and clothing

Accepting:

  • clothing
  • blankets
  • linens
  • towels
  • shoesΒ 

Place textiles in bags
Box or bag shoes separately.

The next opportunity to recycle for free with the City of Chesterfield is Oct. 22 - 30.
