FREE Recycling By Chesterfield in Dierbergs Parking Lot

Chesterfield's city government provides its second of three recycling collections of the year, with drop-off bins in Dierbergs Market Place parking lot through Sunday. 

The location is Baxter at Clarkson roads, 1730 Clarkson Road.

There is no charge, but follow the guidelines about what works and what doesn't work for recycle.

Single stream recycling guidelines

Not:

• No hazardous chemical containers such as motor oil, insecticide, herbicide
• No plastic film (no plastic sheets, tarps, or wrap)
• No expanded foam or clear polystyrene
• No plastic grocery bags

Accepting:

• plastics No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 7 (The number is on bottom in chasing arrows)
• aluminum cans
• trays and foil 
• milk and juice cartons 
• steel cans and tins 
• newspaper
• cardboard 
• brown paper bags
• magazines, catalogs, telephone books 
• office and computer paper 
• notebooks (no metal clips, spirals, ring binders) 
• gift wrap 
• chipboard (cereal, gift boxes, etc.)
• carrier stock (soda carrying cases)
• junk mail and envelopes
• paperback books (no hard cover books)
• glass bottles and jars (clear, brown, and green)

Rinse and empty all containers before recycling.

TEXTILE GUIDELINES 

Not:

• hangers
• wet clothing 
• pillows 
• rugs
• metal cleated shoes
• skates 
• spiked high heel shoes
• material scraps 
• severely damaged shoes and clothing

Accepting:

• clothing
• blankets
• linens
• towels
• shoes 

Place textiles in bags
Box or bag shoes separately.
