Is the Summer Concert Series Continuing This Tuesday? "Yessir!"
An annual firefighter-hosted charity golf tournament, a possible liquor license for a new Chesterfield business and falling weather balloons are also happening this week.

1) The Monarch Fire Protection District’s fifth annual charity golf tournament gets underway Monday at 11 a.m. Cash prizes and free refreshments, plus hole-in-one and long drive contests, are all part of the event, which raises money to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
2) You can take in some tunes on Tuesday at Faust Park as part of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert Series. The Yessir! Band will be taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. with seating and concessions available beginning at 5:30 p.m.
3) The Chesterfield City Council meets Monday and is set to approve a liquor license for what promises to be a new business of interest to all home beer brewing enthusiasts. You can learn more about J2 Brewing, which is planning an Aug. 30 opening, at their website.

4) Residents in Chesterfield and West County will want to keep a sharp on the sky this week as St. Louis University will be helping NASA conducted a study involving the launching of 34 weather balloons.
The balloons will go up in the sky from Forest Park on Monday and it’s possible some could land in Chesterfield. Wildwood Mayor Tim Woether (a NASA enthusiast) has the details on what to do if you find one in your backyard.

5) The first day of school may not be until next week (Aug. 13, to be exact), but consider this a friendly reminder that time is running out for you to do your back-to-school shopping.
