Never Read It? See the Play at Chesterfield Mall Theatre
"The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams was based on author's years in St. Louis.
A non-profit theater group renting space at Chesterfield Mall is putting on 12 shows of Tennessee Williams'Β The Glass ManagerieΒ over the next three weekends, starting Thursday 8 p.m. - March 18. Sundays 2 p.m.
Tickets are $22-$25. A preview Thursday March 1 is only $18. Judging from previous productions, theater-goers say Dramatic License ProductionsΒ are worth the price of the ticket.
And if you haven't read The Glass Menagerie, it's worth seeing the play. You'll get a sense of what Tennessee Williams' writing is all about. His works are often considered semi-autobiographical, and alcohol-fueled.

Here's what Dramatic License Theatre saysΒ about The Glass Menagerie on Brown Paper Ticket:
One of the most revered plays of the 20th century, by one of America's greatest playwrightsβTennessee Williamsβthis timeless classic set in 1930's St. Louis centers on family: living with them, standing by them, escaping them, and loving them anyway. Poetic and frustrated Tom is desperate to escape the confines of his family's small St. Louis apartment, his domineering mother and shy, slightly damaged sister. A visit by a gentlemen caller could change their lives for the better. But will it?
