NRA Convention Is Golden Opportunity For Chesterfield Gun Firm

Marco Polo Outfitters relishes the chance to get in front of customers.

Anyone walking through the annual convention at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in St. Louis will be witness to seven acres of what many here have called "Nirvana" for gun enthusiasts.

For Chesterfield'sΒ , a dealer of high-end guns, participating as an exhibitor at the event is a rare opportunity for the by-appointment company to get much-needed facetime with thousands of people from around the country. Just as important, a company official said, is the opportunity to meet customers from right here in St. Louis.

"St. Louis doesn’t know we’re here yet, and this is a lot of help,” Jeff Nichols, a sales executive told Patch on the exhibit floor at America's Center.

The firm outgrew its former home and moved to the Chesterfield Valley location in 2010. Events like the convention are a way to keep the upward trajectory going, especially when the company's product is seen by tens of thousands of gun enthusiasts.

"Everyone’s starting to buy again, I think we’re starting to come out of it," Nichols said.
