Former Lobbyist Is New CFO for Rockwood Schools
Here's the district's info on the new hire, who starts July 1 (new fiscal year.)

Timothy Rooney has been named Rockwood's next Chief Financial and Legislative Officer.Β His experience spans nearly thirty years in three school districts with enrollments ranging between 3,000 and 32,000 students. Β Β Β

For the past 18 years,Β Rooney has served as Manager of Budget and Finance for the Shawnee Mission School District in Kansas.Β
During this time, he also worked with members of the Kansas House and Senate to pass legislation favorable to hisΒ to his school district and helped pass a revised statewide school finance formula.Β

Prior to this role, he servedΒ as an Assistant Superintendent for the Excelsior Springs School District, as Director of Finance for the St. Joseph School District and as a staff auditor for the Missouri State Auditorβs Office.Β
RooneyΒ earned a bachelorβs degree in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University, a masterβs degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and he completed coursework toward alternative teacher certification from Central Missouri State University.Β

Rooney was awarded a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant in addition to annual certificates since 1994-95 from the Association of School Business Officials and Government Finance Officersβ Association for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
