Grocery Recalls Ground Meats After Glove Part Found In Grinder
Schnucks recall is for ground beef and sausage sold Oct. 1, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Woods Mill and Clayton roads Schnucks only.
Schnucks grocery at 1060 Woods Mill and Clayton roads recalled ground beef and sausage Sunday that was sold 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 1. after a plastic glove sliver was found in the meat grinder.
Return the purchases for a refund. The following statement was on the Schnucks website Sunday:
"Schnuck Markets, Inc. has issued a precautionary recall on all Schnucks brand ground beef and sausage sold between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at its Woods Mill store at 1060 Woods Mill Road (63017).

The ground beef has a sell-by date of Oct. 2, 2011, and the sausage has a sell-by date of Oct. 5, 2011.

At 8 p.m. on Saturday, a thin piece of a plastic glove was found in the grinder during cleaning.Β All Schnucks ground beef and sausage was immediately removed from the sales floor and discarded.

Customers who purchased Schnucks brand ground beef and sausage from the Woods Mill store between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 may return it to the store for a full refund.

This is an isolated incident and no other stores are involved in this recall.Β This is a precautionary measure and there have been no consumer reports.
