2012 Parties in the Park Schedule is Released
The series of outdoor happy hours in downtown Clayton is in its 29th year.
Parties in the Park will return to downtown 's North Meramec Avenue for its 29th season starting May 9, a news release issued Tuesday states.
The outdoor happy hours are held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month through Sept. 12. They occur between Forsyth Boulevard and Maryland Avenue.
“The response to last year’s move to downtown Clayton was unanimous," stated Ellen Gale, executive director of the , in the release. "Everyone loved it. Businesses and restaurants saw an increase in sales and traffic, and those in attendance enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the party on Meramec.”
Perks include free admission, half-priced beer from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and live music. The following performances are scheduled:
- May 9: SLAM
- June 13: Pop 'N Rocket
- July 11: My Friend Mike
- Aug. 8: Concoction
- Sept. 12: American Idle
