The Clayton Board of Aldermen approved the modification of parking requirements at the location during its March 27 meeting. The move means the property owner will not have to provide parking beyond the 61 spaces already available at the site.
A study conducted during a day in February found parking-space occupancy ranged from 44 percent to 66 percent, a memo from City Manager Craig Owens and director of planning and development services Susan Istenes states.
Advanced Orthopedics plans to move from its 1,562 square feet of space on the building's second floor to 4,419 square feet of space on the first floor. Sports Medicine & Training Center will operate in the remaining first-floor space.
A portion of the first floor has been vacant since 2007. An office is expected to occupy the second-floor space.
