Clayton Mayor Linda Goldstein Named Recipient of Parks Award

Clayton Mayor Linda Goldstein has been named the recipient of a public official award by the Missouri Park and Recreation Association (MPRA), the city announced Friday.

"The City of Clayton is a fantastic example of a community that understands the importance of parks, community facilities and programs,” MPRA President Janet Snook stated in a news release. “By making this award to Mayor Goldstein, the Missouri Park and Recreation Association is recognizing her significant contributions to the vibrancy of community."

Goldstein is a past president of 's governing board. Last year, she received an accessibility award from the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired in recognition of the city's parks, the release states.

During her tenure, the city has banned smoking in its restaurants, businesses and parks. The city also has adopted the strategic plan Vision 2013, which among other things emphasizes the importance of access to recreational activities.
