The School District of Clayton is seeking volunteers to participate in the OASIS tutoring program. There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. in the OASIS Suite at the Center of Clayton.
OASIS tutors help a child develop self-esteem and positive attitudes toward learning and school. Volunteers spend one hour a week during the school day working one-on-one with a child in kindergarten through third grade. All materials are provided and volunteers can select the school and day they would like to tutor. Training sessions for OASIS volunteers are scheduled for Sept. 11, 13, 18 and 20 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Center of Clayton. For additional information, please contact Harriet Spilker at (314) 434-4996 or harrietspilker@claytonschools.net.
