Clayton Economic Developer Gary Carter has earned a national Certified Economic Developer recognition, the city announced Wednesday in a news release.
He is one of 1,250 people nationwide to actively hold the distinction. To receive the title, Carter had to pass a rigorous three-part examination focusing on subjects such as:
- business retention and expansion
- marketing
- finance
- workforce development
- community development
- strategic planning
- management
The International Economic Development Council administers the program.
