senior Jasmine Respess has been named the recipient of an honorable mention award in the 2012 Missouri Region Scholastic Writing Awards Contest, the announced Feb. 3.
Her submission came in the memoir or personal essay category.
The piece was one of 704 submissions to the contest throughout the state.
