Baby's Zoo Trip Features Kenzi, Teary Train Ride
My wife and I took our son to the Saint Louis Zoo on Saturday.

On Saturday, Micah visited the Saint Louis Zoo. Julie and I accompanied my father-in-law and several friends to Forest Park for the adventure.
Our son, now 3 1/2 months old, preferred watching people to critters. The boy in the elephant-patterned shirt spent part of the day in his stroller and the other part being held or carried in a sling. He can consume a lot of information with those wide blue eyes.
The weather made for a beautiful morning and early afternoon. We saw bears wandering across their rocks, watched penguins and puffins dive into water and fawned over Kenzi, the baby elephant.
Micah had a temporary falling out with the zoo during the ride on the train. A combination of train whistle and rumbling, I think, prompted him to cry. But a few comforting squeezes and encouraging words from his mom later, he appeared to be in good shape.
When he grows up, I'm sure he'll look back fondly on the experience.
Just don't ask him if he'd like to be a conductor.
