Clayton Firefighters Raising Money For Childhood Cancer
Firefighters will shave their heads to raise money for childhood cancer. The event is scheduled for March 10 at Helen Fitzgerald's.
CLAYTON, MO — Firefighters with the Clayton Fire Department are raising money for St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. Every year, the group sponsors head-shaving events at schools, churches, police departments, firehouses and on military bases around the country to encourage donations. Since 2o05, St. Baldrick's has funded more than $232 million worth of research grants leading to new drugs and treatments for cancer, according to their website.
Clayton firefighters participating in the fundraiser will shave their heads March 10 at Helen Fitzgerald's Irish Grill & Pub. So far, the Clayton Fire team has raised $400 out of their $4,500 goal. To donate, visit the team's website.
