Clayton Presidential Scholars Will Be Honored in June
Shuyang Li and Corrine* Yap are among the 10 Missouri seniors to be named semifinalists in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Two seniors have been named semifinalists in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, according to a news release.
and Corrine* Yap will be honored in June in Washington, D.C., the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced Tuesday. A total of 10 Missouri students are semifinalists.
"The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is one of the nation's highest honors for high school students," stated Missouri Commissioner of Education Chris Nicastro in the release. "These semifinalists represent some of the brightest and most talented seniors in our state, and I commend them for their hard work and commitment to educational success."
Nearly 3.2 million seniors will graduate this year, and 3,300 of them were identified as program candidates, the release states. Of those students, about 550 have been named semifinalists.
From that group, up to 141 academic scholars and up to 20 arts scholars are expected to be named this month.
The program began in 1964.
