Craigslist Murder Trial Begins This Week

St. Louis man accused of fatally shooting 19-year old engineering student in Craigslist murder.

CLAYTON, MO — Jury selection begins this week in the murder trial of Michael Gordon. Police say Gordon fatally shot Taylor Clark, 19, after the two men met to discuss the sale of a sports car. The sale had been arranged on Craigslist, The Post-Dispatch reports.

Gordon shot Clark once in the head near an abandoned railroad spur behind the trucking school and hid the body under dirt and leaves, authorities have said. Gordon then went back to work, they said.
After the killing, police found Gordon’s red 1990 BMW in the 4100 block of Penrose Avenue but found no weapon inside. Police have said Gordon also owned the same model Nissan as the one Taylor was selling, and Gordon had been hiding his Nissan on the trucking school parking lot before it was repossessed.
Gordon has been jailed since his arrest the week of the killing. Prosecutors have not declared intent to seek the death penalty.

The shooting took place in 2015. The trial is set to start Tuesday.
