Election 2012: Claytonites Compete for Ward 1 Seat

A competitive race is expected for an available Ward 1 seat on the .

Marguerite Garrick of Aberdeen Place and Joanne Boulton of Cecil Avenue are expected to compete for the position in the April 3 election, City Clerk June Waters stated Thursday in an email. Alderman Judy Goodman's term in that Ward 1 seat is expiring.

Garrick has worked with the Saint Louis Zoo Association Board and the Deer Creek Tributaries Naming Sub-Committee.

Boulton serves as project coordinator at Trailnet.

Ward II candidate Michelle Harris of Broadview Drive and Ward III candidate Alex Berger of Venetian Drive . Harris serves on the board, and Berger served for three terms before taking a year off.

A term on the board lasts three years.

Those interested in running for office in Clayton have until 5 p.m. Jan. 24 to file.
