Fontbonne Receives $2.5 million in Federal Grants

Grants from the U.S. Department of Education will help fund graduate programs at Fontbonne University. The university received the $2.5 million in grants to help fund two programs training educators to work with children with communication disorders or who are deaf or hard of hearing.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, a $1.25 million grant will help enroll students in a 29-credit-hour graduate concentration within the university’s speech-language pathology master’s program.

A second $1.25 million grant will go toward a 36-credit-hour graduate degree program in early intervention in deaf education.

That program will prepare students to work with young children who are deaf and their families to facilitate development of listening and spoken language.
