Robbery Attempt Halted at Clayton Hotel Bar
The suspect, an employee of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, sprayed the bartender with pepper spray and grabbed cash before being stopped in his tracks, Clayton police said.

A employee attempted to rob a hotel bar with pepper spray June 14, but patrons stopped him, according to a report from the .
Yarom Garcia, 30, of St. Louis, was Friday in with second-degree robbery.
Garcia had been drinking in the Crowne Plaza’s bar area, according to the report. He left the bar and returned with a T-shirt tied around his face, went behind the bar and sprayed the bartender with pepper spray, the report states. He grabbed cash from the register and tried to leave, but other bar patrons stopped him.

Garcia confessed to the robbery, according to the police report. He said he needed money to buy things for his children.
Bond was set at $50,000.
