LETTER: Marguerite Garrick Withdraws from Clayton's Ward 1 Race
A flare-up of symptoms related to multiple sclerosis means she cannot continue her campaign for the Clayton Board of Aldermen.
Dear Supporters and Neighbors:
It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that for health reasons I must withdraw from the Ward One Aldermanic campaign. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which after a long period of remission has once again flared up into a relapse of symptoms which make me unable to continue campaigning.
The outpouring of assistance and support I have received from all of you has made me feel humble and honored. It would have been a privilege to represent you on the Clayton Board of Aldermen.
I want to say that as I recently have been becoming an expert on our City's governance, I have become increasingly impressed by how well Clayton is run. We are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated and talented staff and elected officials who work hard every day to make balanced, informed decisions on our community's behalf.
Thank you very much to all of you who said yes to me without hesitation, and for all you have done to help me craft my campaign. My family and I feel very lucky to live here among such engaged and kind friends and neighbors.
If you would like more information you can visit my website at margueritegarrickforalderman.com.
All the best,
Marguerite
