I have past work experience in human resources, social services and teaching. I worked for the State of Missouri where I helped elderly and disabled people with benefits. I plan to return to teaching in the near future.
Through my experiences, I have met many different people. I am very adept at helping people solve problems under a variety of circumstances. I know these skills will serve my constituents well on the city council. While home with my children, I have looked for opportunities to get involved in my community including volunteering for HopeBUILD, Joe’s Place, the MRH School District and others.

Reason for Running
My husband and I bought our first house in Richmond Heights in 2005. We loved that Richmond Heights offered us a close knit community, a rapidly improving school district and easy access to a variety of educational and cultural opportunities.
When we needed a bigger house, we had many wishes on our list, but top of them was staying in Richmond Heights. I am running for City Council because I have chosen Richmond Heights as the place where I am going to raise my family and live for many years to come, and I want to ensure that it continues to be a forward-thinking, safe and prosperous city.
Having lived in two houses in District Three, I have gotten to know many neighbors and made many friends. I understand the issues that face our community and believe that I can be an advocate for the neighborhood.
Questions
- I believe the biggest issue facing Richmond Heights is to complete the Hadley Township redevelopment. Currently, Hadley Township has many vacant properties and is experiencing blight. I believe we need to find a redevelopment plan that works for all residents.
- I love living in Richmond Heights and believe that our current leaders are doing a good job running the city. The city has come through a very difficult economic time over the past several years with the closing of highway 64 and falling property values. The mayor and city council have handled the decisions facing the city in a fiscally responsible manner. In the future, I would like to work to give Richmond Heights a stronger identity as a destination city.
- The one thing I am determined to accomplish during my first term is to ensure that our jail has a sally port built. My neighbors and I have had experiences with prisoners escaping from the jail during transport. Although the police have responded promptly and professionally, we need to prevent this from happening. We need to build a secure area (sally port) attached to the jail so that prisoners can be transported safely. If elected, I will make finding the funds to build this area a priority.
