Missouri's 100 Best Public Middle Schools: New Rankings

MISSOURI — Wydown Middle School in the Clayton School District is the best public middle school in Missouri, according to Niche.com's 2019 rankings. Eight of the state's top 10 middle schools were in the St. Louis area.

The education research website factored test scores, diversity, student surveys, teacher salaries, available clubs and activities, health and safety, spending per student and other criteria into their rankings. Read more about their methodology here.

Clayton High School was also ranked number one in Niche's list of the best best public high schools in Missouri. In fact, if you compare the two lists, you'll notice plenty of other similarities as well.

Perhaps schools like these are part of the reason Missouri outpaced the nation for SAT scores in 2018. Yes, middle-schoolers are a bit young for the college admissions test, but it's never too early to start prepping.
