Police: Taser Used After Man Attacks Officials Who Revived Him

It happened on Collins Avenue, the Richmond Heights Police Department said.

Officials used a Taser on May 17 to subdue a 17-year-old man who became combative after regaining consciousness, the reported.

It happened in the 1500 block of Collins Avenue.

The man had ingested an opiate drug and become unresponsive, police said, so they gave him a drug to counteract the effects of the opiate. When he awoke, he began to fight with officers and paramedics.

In turn, officials used a Taser and secured the man to a gurney. He continued to fight on his way to the hospital.

Police planned to seek municipal warrants for disorderly conduct and assault on an emergency medical worker.
