The inside lid of the ice cream chest was damaged, and recommended for repair or replacement. Ceiling tiles in the food storage areas were also recommended for replacement prior to the next routine inspection.

J. Buck’s Restaurant, 101 S. Hanley Rd.
Inspection date: Feb. 27
Grade: A (99)
Comments: The main hand sink was chipped, and recommended for replacement within 30 days.

Jimmy’s Café on the Park, 706 DeMun
Inspection date: Feb. 13
Grade: A (98)
Comments: Light shields were noted missing or broken near the walk-in cooler, and recommended for repair within 30 days. The inspector observed dirt and residue build-up in areas throughout the establishment. Replacement was recommended prior to the next routine inspection.

Kaldi’s Coffeehouse, 700 DeMun
Inspection date: Feb. 13
Grade: A (98)
Comments: Several light shields were noted broken or missing, and recommended for replacement within 30 days. The inspector also noted that food preparation is occurring in the basement, which does not have smooth, easily cleanable walls and floors. The inspector advised that the area be brought up to food service standards before thenext routine inspection.

Mad Tomato, 8000 Carondelet Ave.
Inspection date: Feb. 28
Grade: A (94)
Comments: Hepatitis A immunization records were incomplete, according to the report. The person in charge during the inspection did not have valid food protection certification. Both items were recommended for correction within 10 days.
