WEATHER ALERT: Clayton and Richmond Heights

and are under a heat advisory expected to last through Thursday, the National Weather Service reported.

The advisory went into effect at 1 p.m. Monday because heat-index values are expected to rise to 100 degrees Monday and Tuesday, and to 105 degrees or more Wednesday and Thursday.

St. Louisans can take the following precautions to help avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke, the advisory states:

  • Reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or night.
  • Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • When working outdoors, take frequent breaks in shade or an air-conditioned space.
