
Emergency first responders who came to the scene of a serious car accident involving teacher Janet Esrock and her son Jonathan in August were honored by the school in an assembly Thursday.
Members of the Monarch Fire Protection District were recognized in the event and the school made an undisclosed donation in their honor to Backstoppers.

Jonathan Esrock, a student at the school has returned part-time to class, according to the family's postings on the CaringBridge website. The family wrote on the same blog that after the accident, members of the Fire Protection District offered to help with lawn chores while the family was at the hospital.
