Graphic Detail Emerges In Berger Sexual Misconduct Case
The former newspaper columnist was charged in October after Creve Coeur Police said he had unwanted sexual contact with a man in a checkout line.

Jerry Berger’s attorneys and county prosecutors met with St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Judy Preddy Draper for a hearing Tuesday morning. Berger was not required to attend.
Berger, 79, the former St. Louis Post-Dispatch gossip columnist, and a resident of the 300 block of Magna Carta in Creve Coeur, was charged Oct. 9 with two counts of first-degree sexual misconduct.

Creve Coeur Police said in a report that on Feb. 22, Berger grabbed another man’s testicles and poked a finger in his anus through the man's clothing.
Police said the incident occurred while the two were waiting in a checkout line at a business in the 11600 block of Olive Boulevard, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch report on the initial arrest.

Rosenblum could not be reached Tuesday for comment. He told the Post-Dispatch in October "When everything gets sorted out, it will be obvious that it was a misunderstanding and the charges and allegations are completely unfounded."
