Creve Coeur State Rep. Weighs In On Rush Limbaugh Debate
Democrat Jill Schupp represents parts of Creve Coeur, Chesterfield, Town and Country and Unincorporated St. Louis County in Jefferson City

State Representative Jill Schupp (D-82) . Late Tuesday she released the following statement to Patch:
I have heard from scores of people in the district all asking me to oppose recognizing Rush as a famous Missourian. I have responded and asked them to send their comments to the Speaker.Β It is a prerogative of the Speaker to make selection(s) of famous Missourian(s) andΒ raise money to cover the cost of theΒ sculpture(s) to be unveiled and housed in the capitol. This choice is one that I believeΒ will inflameΒ half of the people of the state.Β Particularly in light ofΒ Rush'sΒ recent outrageous comments, I am hopeful the Speaker realizes that inclusion of Rush Limbaugh could detract fromΒ the greatness of those Missourians included in the Hall of Famous Missourians. And, there is really nothing compelling about devoting space to a Hall of Infamous Missourians.
