Dispatch Consortium Moving Closer On Staff & Facilities

Construction in Town and Country should be completed by February 25.

The West Central Dispatch Consortium, a combination of police radio dispatching staff from the cities of Creve Coeur, Frontenac and Town and Country should be taking a big step forward in terms of facilities and staffing next week.

After a meeting of the WCDC board Wednesday, Creve Coeur Police Chief Glenn Eidman said interviews with 13 incumbent dispatchers from the participating communities were held Friday. Eidman said the next step was to work on salaries and benefits for dispatchers hired by the new agency. He indicated there would be more information available by next Monday or Tuesday, but that no conditional employment offers had been extended.

Meanwhile, construction continues to expand facilities at the Town and Country Municipal Center to house the operation. The majority of the ceiling work was complete, and next week, three new radio consoles will be installed on site. Authorities hope the construction work will be complete by Feb. 25 and the facility operational starting March 1.
