Jewish Community Here Urged To Be Watchful
The Jewish Federation of St. Louis says it sees no imminent threat despite overseas tension between Israel and Iran.

The Jewish Federation of St. Louis puts out an annual reminder to the agencies it funds as a way of coordinating information on topics of interest to the Jewish community. It just so happens that the 2012 version will be going out at a time when tensions between Israel and Iran are at the moment more pronounced because of Israel's concern for a potentially nuclear-armed Iran.
CNN reports that the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security sent a memo to state and local law enforcement authorities earlier this month that indicated there was no immediate threat, but that federal security officials are urging people to be vigilant given world events.
Judy Abrams, the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the St. Louis Jewish Federation, echoed that sentiment. Her bulletin was scheduled to go out to member agencies as early as Thursday or Friday. She said it would urge the community be cautious and careful but that there was no knowledge of an immediate threat.
