An affiliate of the Kumon Math and Reading Center plans to open up shop in Creve Coeur next month. The after school tutoring location is set for 12390 Olive Blvd. next to what was formerly Potentials Resale, west of Interstate 270 in the Westgate Shopping Center. A sign in the storefront's window indicated plans for a June opening, but according to the company's website and a company representative, that's now slated for the first week of July. According to Michael Orihuela, who is opening the location, there will be 5 people on site, including himself. Class days will be Saturday and Wednesday, but the business will have weekday business hours as well. Orihuela said he would promote an atmosphere of self-learning and that the environment would not be a traditional classroom approach. He said that staff would come from neighboring Kumon centers who have agreed to work with him as well.

The after school tutoring location is set for 12390 Olive Blvd. in the Westgate Shopping Center.
