Lion's Choice, a fast-food institution in St. Louis, has been sold to Clayton based LC Corporate LLC.
Marvin Gibb, the founder of Lion's Choice and its parent company Red Lion Beef Co., sold the company Tuesday to Bob Millstone and Mark Disper, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The first Lion's Choice was built in Ballwin and was originally known as Red Lion Beef House.
Disper was Lion's Choice's first franchisee in 2000. He is a former business consultant for Anheuser-Busch. Millstone leads The Millstone Company and Millstone Capital Advisors.
Gibbs founded Lions Choice in 1967 with two partners as a side business from his day job as a chemical engineer at Monsanto, according to the Post. In Creve Coeur, Lion's Choice is located on Olive Boulevard just east of the Interstate 270 exit.
