New City Council Members Seated Following April Elections

Creve Coeur City Council members named Ward 4's Scott Saunders to serve as President.

Cynthia Kramer and Ellen Lawrence joined the Creve Coeur City Council Monday following their wins at the polls earlier this month representing Wards 1 and 2 respectively.

City Clerk Debbie Ryan administered the oath of office.

Kramer succeeds Beth Kistner, who was bound by term limits from running for re-election. Kistner said her work as an executive at Mercy would keep her plenty busy. although she said she could see herself involved with the city Planning and Zoning Commission at some point. She added that she'd like to be involved in citizen efforts to look at the future of the Creve Coeur Government Center.

Lawrence succeeds Tara Nealey, who decided against running for re-election. Ward 3's Charlotte D'Alfonso and Ward 4's Scott Saunders were re-elected after running unopposed.

Council members voted 7-0 to elect Ward 4's Scott Saunders to serve as President for the year. (Councilman David Kreuter was absent). The council President plays a role in vetting city appointments and also manages Council meetings in the absence of the Mayor.
