Buyouts Could Grow Beyond Orchard Lakes, Residents Say
Developers are still in talks with residents in a subdivision between Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights about obtaining the property to make way for a commercial retail project.

A reported September 25 deadline for residents to respond to developers looking to buy out a residential neighborhood near Creve Coeur has come and gone, and according to information posted on an informal Facebook page devoted to the Orchard Lakes Subdivision, more neighborhoods could be asked to make room for a commercial development project.
The Devereux Company and Peter Sheahan, of NAI/Desco, have made at least two offers to residents in the Orchard Lakes subdivision, nestled between Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights.
The Facebook page indicated that as of September 27, approximately 50 property owners out of approximately 250 houses had not responded to an offer and that the developers would be reaching out to those who had not responded.
The developers have consistently declined media comment about the project, but according to the subdivision Facebook page reportedly told a resident in Orchard Lakes that once that neighborhood was bought out, they would attempt to obtain properties on Trailways Drive, Plainsman Drive and Westward Drive, north of Orchard Lakes, off of Craig Road in unincorporated St. Louis County.
The developers have not been specific about which retail would be located on the site if the project moves forward, but Creve Coeur Mayor Barry Glantz, who met with Dan Devereaux in July, told Patch that the developer desires to make it a "premier retail destination."
