Park Bench Dedicated at City Park Honoring LaVerne Collins
The Creve Coeuer Kiwanis Club has added a bench to the park named after former Mayor Harold Dielmann's former assistant.
LaVerne Collins is straight-forward but humble when talking about the latest addition to near Spoede and Olive in Creve Coeur.
She knows the space has its limits for development and activity, given that it sits on a Missouri American Water line. But Friday, the park took another step to make itself a little more user-friendly when the held a ribbon cutting for a new parkbench table area.
Collins, who served as an assistant to longtime former Creve Coeur Mayor Harold Dielmann, said she's happy for anything that can be done to help improve beautification efforts in the city. Dielmann was on hand for the event, as was new Mayor Barry Glantz, who officiated his first ribbon-cutting ceremony.
