Whitfield Wrestlers Look Strong for Districts

The Warriors have a strong tradition to uphold, and it's looking good for this year as well.

For wrestlers in the St. Louis area with state podium aspirations, the district/sectional meets, held today and tomorrow are necessary hurdles on the road to the Hearnes Center, at Mizzou.

The top four in each weight class will go on to the state meet, and getting to, and winning at, state is always a priority for the wrestlers. As a team, they took second last year, fifth in 2010, won in 2009 and 2008, and took second in 2007.

Among the Warrior wrestlers, are seven who are currently ranked in the top ten in the state on missouriwrestling.com.
